Newly Discovered
In June 2018, Jane Kallir, director of Galerie St. Etienne in New York, received a set of images of a pencil drawing of a girl modelling in the nude. The drawing was said to have been purchased from a Habitat for Humanity charity shop by an anonymous person in Queens, New York. After cross-comparing with other Schiele works, Kallir declared the piece an authentic work belonging to a series of 22 pencil drawings created in 1918, shortly before the artist succumbed to the Spanish Flu.
